A storage laundry room is a place that serves an important function in any household. Clean clothes are of utmost importance in most busy houses, and the laundry room is oftentimes the hub of this cleaning activity. A typical laundry room is cluttered, dark, damp and simply uninviting. At times, these rooms can be in such disarray that it dissuades even the bravest of cleaners. There's no space to walk around freely, you keep bumping into things with sharp edges, and the all-around experience is one that you would just as soon avoid completely. However, this does not have to be the case. Following are some tips that you can use to save space in your storage laundry room so that you can enjoy the time that you're in it, and not dread the next time you have to use it.

1 - Think of creating a special place designed only for doing the laundry. This area should remain clear of vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies and anything else that does not have to be there.

2 -While organizers or overhead storage shelving can help you to conveniently store equipment and cleaning items. Once this is completed, your laundry room area is effectively split into a clearly defined and organized layout.

3 - Stackable washer and dryer units are a great way to save floorspace by building up. By the same token, overhead storage shelves can help to utilize the vertical space that is often underappreciated in a storage laundry room.

4 - You can use wire baskets and hanging racks or hooks to store ironing boards and detergents. This will free up floor space and make the laundry room look bigger than it actually is.

5 - Any unusual spaces in your laundry room can be used as a cabinet or storage area that can hold towels, supplies, and random items.

6 - It is a good idea at to have ceramic tiles for flooring because of its ability to keep rooms cooler and conceal dirt at the same time.

7 - Painting the walls in bold colors makes rooms of your house more spacious, and this is a good strategy to use in a laundry room.

8 - Most laundry rooms do not have ample lighting, so make it a point to add additional lights to make sure that every corner of the room is viewable and accessible.

9 - Stainless steel trash bins have a clean, modern look about them, while at the same time providing the sturdiness and durability that is required for items in a laundry room.

10 - Take a look at the items that you have used in your laundry room over the past year or so, and make sure that items that are not used very often stay away for good. Donate these items to charity and keep your laundry room free of clutter.
